Why Our Soap is Special
- Real soap, not detergent
We make soap the old-fashioned way, with natural oils & fats saponified with a strong alkali.
- We don't use palm of any kind
We care about the negative impact deforestation has on our planet, which is why we choose to avoid all palm products, "responsibly sourced" or not.
- No single-use plastics
We prefer paper, glass, and metals; the majority of our products have zero plastic. We package in such a way that if plastic is involved, it is multiuse! Enjoy our product, wash the container, and reuse for your knickknacks and trinkets. Our goal for the very near future is to ditch all plastic. We've had to get creative, but we're on our way to achieving this important step towards sustainability!
- No artificial fragrance or synthetic scents
At Flamingoberry, we prefer 100% essential oils, or simply enjoying an unscented soap or cream. All of our essential oils come from New Directions Aromatics (check them out, they're great). We do not support MLMs, or their predatory practices.
- We're fully insured
Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
- We support farmers
As Iowans, with a small family farm of our own, we take pride in supporting America's farmers. Flamingoberry sources as many ingredients locally as our climate will allow. We grow it ourselves, or we support our neighbors (like the corn silk in our soaps providing a nice glide or the Quad Cities honey added for more luxurious bubbles).
